It seems Apple may be sitting up and taking notice of Neil Young, who's been bitingly critical of digital music. He argues that even the highest quality downloadable music only contains a fraction of the audio data found in the original master recordings.

The Guardian reports that Apple is looking at ways of offering super-high-quality downloads in its iTunes Match service.

Of course, bigger files will take up more space and it's thought Apple is working on a way of only downloading the super-HQ tracks to devices with larger storage.
