iPad Users Spend Only 23p A YEAR Downloading Newspapers And Magazines

It seems the iPad digital reading revolution still has some way to go. Research firm Distimo says iPad owners spend a total of about £44,000 a day buying digital newspapers and magazines through the Newsstand app. That's about £16m a year.

But divide that by the number of iPads sold - 65 million - and it means the average iPad user is spending 23p a year on Newsstand publications.

This, of course, doesn't include newspaper apps outside Newsstand, but it's still a tiny figure and shows either Newsstand still has a load of potential or people aren't willing to shell out money when there are free ways of getting news.
