What We Expect From WWDC2012 Keynote...

Apple's WorldWide Developers' Conference gets underway Monday in San Francisco. It lasts all week, but Monday will see Apple CEO Tim Cook take to the stage to deliver the traditional WWDC keynote speech, where he will outline the company's plans (well, the ones that aren't secret) for the coming year.

So, what can we expect.

We're certain to get a teaser of iOS6 and a beta version could be released to developers for testing. We expect the next-generation operating system to include Apple's own mapping app, tighter Facebook integration, Siri for iPad and a "Do Not Disturb" switch in Notification Centre. It should be pointed out that all these features are already available if your iPhone or iPad is jailbroken.

We think Apple will stay silent about the iPhone 5 and leave an announcement for the autumn, when iOS6 will be ready for public release.

There's bound to be more news on the next Apple desktop and laptop operating system, OS X Mountain Lion, which is expected to include new features like iMessage, and Notification Centre. It's all about iOS slowly merging with OS X.

More on the hardware front: it's know Apple is planning to refresh the MacBook Pro and possibly Air range of laptops and even iMac desktops as well, so we may get announcements on that and it could even include high-def Retina displays.

And, finally, we're expecting improvements to iCloud, with things like Notes syncing.
