Microsoft says it's started to roll out the new Tango 7.5 update for its Windows Phone OS for Nokia Lumia 800 and 710 smartphones. It seems like a phased update lasting to the end of July.
Tango, a step up from Mango, will add new features including WiFi tethering and the ability to silence your phone by turning it face down. You'll also be able to download a new Nokia app, Camera Extras, to soup-up your snapper with panoramic and action views.
There was widespread disappointment if not downright anger when Microsoft confirmed current Windows Phone devices won't be getting the major WP 8 update scheduled for Autumn: it will only run on new dual-core processor phones.
But there will be a 7.8 update for current phones later this year giving most of the UI improvements expected in 8.
