The Internet is buzzing with rumours about the next-generation iPhone and one feature that seems certain is a new smaller dock connector.
TechCrunch is reporting confirmation from three sources. And, apparently, it means the iPhone 5 won't work with unlicensed third-party accessories. Not only is the dock smaller, but it will also demand a chip in accessories to work properly. It's seen as another way for Apple to stop other manufacturers muscling in on its territory without paying for it.
That is until it's hacked.
