Older iPhones To Miss Out On Some iOS 6 Features

Not all iPhones were created equally...and it means some will not be getting all the new features of iOS 6 to be launched this autumn.

It's because Apple has decided older devices just aren't powerful enough to run the ever-demanding software.

Turn-by-turn navigation in Apple Maps will only work on the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 and above.

Siri will only be on the iPhone 4S and the iPad 3.

FaceTime over 3G is reserved for the iPhone 4S and iPad 3.

Apple says iOS 6 will be available for download on the iPhone 3GS and the original iPad and above and we expect its release to coincide with the launch of the next-generation iPhone 5, which, of course, will run all features of the new software.

No doubt jailbreakers will eventually be able to get most of the features working on most devices.
