Apple Drops iOS Password Pop-Up For Free Apps?

Here's a little bit of news that could make life easier. It looks like Apple is dropping the ID and Password box that pops up when you download a free app from the App Store on your iOS device.

AppleInsider reports that in the latest developers' beta version of iOS 6, users no longer need to enter the security details when downloading free apps. The box still, of course, pops up for paid apps.

There's no guarantee this change will make it to the final public release of iOS 6. In fact, if it did and someone got hold of your iPhone, they could clog it up with free apps to their heart's content.

Perhaps not such a good idea.
