European Mobile Networks "Stocking Up On Nano-SIM Cards" Ahead Of iPhone 5 Launch

The Financial Times is reporting that European mobile networks are stocking up on new nano-SIM cards in readiness for the launch of the next-generation iPhone.
In one of the clearest signals yet of an impending launch, Apple’s European operator partners have begun to place multiple orders with chipmakers for a so-called “nano-Sim”, the only physical piece of the phone that is owned by the telecom networks.
If you're old enough to remember early mobile phones, you'll know they packed SIM cards the size of credit cards. They then shrank to mini-SIM size and then to micro-SIM size with the launch of the iPhone 4S.

The nano-SIM will be even smaller and it's thought the iPhone 5 - due for launch in the autumn - will be one of the first mobiles using the new chip.
