Tim Cook Has Second Meeting With Samsung CEO To Try For Ceasefire In Patents War

It's been revealed that Apple CEO Tim Cook has had a second meeting with his Samsung counterpart, Choi Gee-Sung, in an attempt to settle the companies' patents war.

The talks were ordered by a judge in California ahead of a jury trial scheduled to start on June 30.

It was known executives of both companies met about a month ago and now The Korea Times reports the two sides got together again on July 16.

The companies are suing each other around the world claiming patent infringements involving smartphone and tablet software and hardware.

While the patent war continues, the two are hugely dependent on each other: Samsung provided parts worth $7.8bn for Apple products in 2012 alone.
