Confirmed: Nokia Lumia 920 is EE and Phones4u exclusive in UK

Just what we didn't want to happen, has happened. The highly anticipated Windows Phone 8 device, the Nokia Lumia 920, is an EE exclusive on launch in the UK.

So, if you want to get a 920 on contract, it'll have to be on the EE network. EE says it's because the 920 has 4G and EE is the UK's first 4G network.

OK. It also means no choice...and we're not sure many people will want EE's very expensive 4G offerings anyway.

The Lumia 920 is a great device. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how long this restrictive exclusive deal lasts. Hopefully not long.

Update: The Nokia Lumia 920 will also be sold by Phones4u on EE contracts.

There'll be no pay-as-you-go option but we wonder if Phones4u will be doing a SIM-free handset-only price?

Let us know if you spot anything.

Update 2: Phones4u IS selling the Lumia 920 SIM free for £460 and £10 cheaper on pay-as-you-go. Details here.
