We were fairly pissed off that Nokia's WP8 flagship, the Lumia 920, had been signed up for an exclusive deal at launch in the UK by Everything Everywhere.
But it's not as bad as we thought.
Phones4u will be selling SIM-free versions of the Lumia 920 for £459.95. Stores are putting up displays with deliveries of the handset expected on Saturday.
The chain also has the smaller Lumia 820 and the exceptionally gorgeous HTC 8X as well as the smaller HTC 8S - all loaded with the brand new WP8.
It must be said that Phones4u is gradually throwing off the bad image it had a couple of years ago. Most of its stock is now SIM-free and it takes seriously getting new handsets quickly.
Update: We've heard that Phones4u stores are getting stock on Friday, but they won't go on sale until Saturday. We understand that includes both Nokia Lumia devices as well as HTC WP8 phones.
Update 2: It appears most phones4u stores didn't get deliveries on Saturday. They have the HTC 8X, in extremely limited numbers, but no Lumias.
