It seems Microsoft has started releasing the long-awaited Windows Phone 7.8 update. Reports say the roll-out has started with the Nokia Lumia 800 and it looks like it will be a phased release possibly spanning a few weeks depending on your Windows Phone model and carrier.
The update comes in four stages that automatically install in sequence.
To get the update - or at the very least to check if it's live for your device - you'll need to plug your phone into a Windows PC running Microsoft's Zune software or a Mac running the Windows Phone app, which is a free download from the Mac Store.
The update will bring many of the features of the new Windows Phone 8 operating system, including resizable homescreen tiles and live lockscreen.
