EE launches 20GB data contract...but it'll cost you

The UK's first 4G network, EE, is desperate to sign up customers...head of its rivals jumping on the fast data bandwagon later this year.

And, to be honest, its offerings aren't that appealing.

4G eats up data and, as yet, there's no unlimited, all-you-can-eat plans.

And what there are...are...well...expensive.

The network is now launching a new plan for heavy data users offering a 20GB per month 4G data allowance, as well as unlimited calls and texts...for £46 a month on a one-year SIM-only contract. That's as long as you sign up before the end of February.

It goes up to £61 a month on a two-year contract if you want a handset as well...and there'll be an up-front cost too.

And don't forget EE isn't nationwide yet...it should cover 35 towns and cities by the end of March.

The other mobile networks in the UK are expected to start offering 4G perhaps by Autumn, so the sensible advice would be to wait and see what's on offer then.
