Google delays Windows Phone sync cut-off, Microsoft to sort out solution

....and breath!

It's 11th-hour, but Google has announced that today's deadline for cutting Google calendar and contacts sync for Windows Phone has been extended until July 31, 2013.

And hot on the heals of that announcement, Microsoft issued a statement saying it will be introducing a permanent solution so syncing will continue after July 31.

Google want to drop support for ActiveSync, the method Microsoft uses for calendar and contacts syncing. Microsoft now says it will introduce support for Google's new calDAV and cardDAV system.
