Nokia announces Map upgrades, adds Israel and Serbia

Nokia has announced improvements to its Windows Phone maps.

The maps power two Nokia apps...Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive.

The Drive app is now a free download for all WP8 users, not just Nokia phone owners.

Two new countries have been added - Serbia and Israel.

And Nokia says it's continually adding more HD detail to other countries. For example, it says it's added or amended 133,000 km of roads in the UK over the last 18 months.

Your phone should alert you to updates for any maps you've downloaded. But you can check by going to Settings > Applications > Maps.

Nokia maps are fast becoming one of the major selling points for the Windows Phone operating system. Nokia Drive now gives all WP8 owners voice turn-by-turn sat nav.
