Nokia to launch Music+ with unlimited streaming and downloads

If you've got a Nokia Lumia smartphone, you'll probably be familiar with the Nokia Music app.

It let's you stream hours of music playlists under various categories, like Jazz, 70's, Dance and so on.

You're limited in the number of skips you're allowed if you don't like a particular track and you can download up to four playlists at any one time to listen off-line.

And it's all free.

Now the company has announced it will be releasing Nokia Music+, a subscription service that lets you download unlimited playlists, gives you unlimited skips and it'll all be in ad-free higher quality.

Basically, Nokia is trying to take on other subscription services like Spotify...and also Microsoft's Xbox Music Pass, which is built into all Windows phones including Nokias.

So, it's all down to cost really.

Nokia says it will be charging 3.99 Euro a month in Europe, which is pretty competitive. There are no more pricing details yet, but we expect the UK price to be £3.99 because...well, that's just the way it is.

Nokia says it will be rolling out Music+, which can be accessed on computers as well as phones, "in the next few weeks".
