TVCatchup app coming soon to Windows Phone

At long last it's confirmed that the incredibly popular TVCatchup service will be releasing an app for Windows Phone 8.

TVCatchup already has free apps for iOS and Android as well as a web-based platform, which won't work on WP devices.

It's not a catch-up service like, say, iPlayer, but instead streams all the UK Freeview channels.

Website AllAboutWindowsPhone says it's been testing a beta version of the WP8 app and it works well allowing viewing on WiFi or a mobile data connection.

We can't wait.

Windows Phone is slowly but surely getting the important apps and filling the gaps that have made its app store a little bare of the big names.

We expect TVCatchup WP8 app to be released in a couple of weeks.

Take note BBC, which continues to refuse to develop apps for Windows Phone, including iPlayer. The Corporation is still using excuses like technical difficulties, there's an r in the month and "we can't be bothered".
