Microsoft "working on Windows Watch"

Wearable technology is the current computer buzz, with manufacturers jostling to come up with gadgets we can strap, hang or stick on our bodies.

Google Glass is months away and Apple, Samsung and Google are thought to be poised to release smartphone watches.

Now, the Wall Street Journal says Microsoft is also working on a smart watch, quoting supply company executives.
Earlier this year, Microsoft asked suppliers in Asia to ship components for a potential watch-style device, the executives said. One executive said he met with Microsoft's research and development team at the software company's Redmond, Wash., headquarters. But it's unclear whether Microsoft will opt to move ahead with the watch, they said.
Microsoft declined to comment.
So far, wearable technology has failed to take off in the general consumer market, although use is widespread and increasing in specialist fields like sport and medicine.
