Microsoft claims major improvements for Windows Phone voice recognition in US

Microsoft is claiming major improvements to the in-built Windows Phone voice recognition system in the US.

It says it's now twice as fast with 15% better accuracy.

Voice recognition is used for speech to-text in apps like Messages and Email, and for Bing searches.

The improvements, which Microsoft said it was working on several months ago, are detailed in the official Bing blog:
If you’re using a Windows Phone in the US, you may have noticed that the voice capabilities on your phone have gotten better. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been rolling out updates to Windows Phone customers, to improve the speed and accuracy of voice to text and voice search. Now when you compose a text message or search using your voice, Bing will return results twice as fast as before and increase accuracy by 15 percent.
That's hunky dory if you live in the US are are blessed with a North American accent. We're presuming the improvements will also be rolled out in other English-speaking areas - like England - and also for other languages.
