Microsoft releases Office for iPhone, but users must subscribe to 360

It's been a long, long, winding road, but Microsoft's Office suite of apps has eventually arrived on the iPhone.

Well, for some.

Microsoft has called the app Office Mobile for Office 360 and the clue is in the title.

You'll have to be a subscriber to Microsoft's latest cloud-based Office suite, Office 360.

It's a no go if you've bought the current or past standalone versions.

And there's no dedicated version for the iPad.

Apart from that....the app operates very much like the Office apps on Windows phones.

Office Mobile is live now in the Apple App Store in the US and will spread to other countries soon.
