Biggest yet: Nokia confirms 4.7" Lumia 625 on 4G for £200

Nokia has confirmed the launch of the Lumia 625, the latest in its line-up of Windows Phone 8 smartphones.

Under the banner "Fun, Fast, Affordable", the price is mid-range - Nokia says about £200 in the UK on prepay  - but the phone is big.

With a Gorilla Glass 2 WVGA display measuring 4.7", it's the largest Lumia yet....not quite a phablet, but getting on that way, although it's surprisingly thing at 9.15mm.

The insides include a 1.2 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera with a VGA front-facing camera.

It comes with 8GB of internal storage plus a microSD card slot for up to an extra 64GB.

Nokia says the 645 will include a 4G variant.

It's colourful too...with interchangeable, snap-on backplates in orange, black, white, green and yellow.

In the UK...O2, Vodafone, EE, Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u have all confirmed they will be stocking the new device with availability expected early September.
