Google blocks Microsoft's YouTube app for Windows Phone

Google has confirmed it's blocking Microsoft's new YouTube app for Windows Phone.

The search giant (owner of YouTube) says the app is still breaking its terms and conditions.

The app was first released a couple of months ago, but Google complained that it blocked ads and allowed downloads.

Microsoft withdrew the app and - we thought - collaborated with Google and re-released the app yesterday - without the downloading feature and with ads.

But almost immediately users got error messages and now Google has confirmed to engadget that the app is blocked:
"We're committed to providing users and creators with a great and consistent YouTube experience across devices, and we've been working with Microsoft to build a fully featured YouTube for Windows Phone app, based on HTML5. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not made the browser upgrades necessary to enable a fully-featured YouTube experience, and has instead re-released a YouTube app that violates our Terms of Service."
Microsoft says its "working" with Google to resolve the issue.
