Nokia "planning 6-inch phablet running WP8 later this year"

Don't get too excited...this is a mock up
The Verge is reporting "sources" who say Nokia is planning to release a six-inch screen phablet running Windows Phone 8 later this year.

The phone-tablet hybrid even has a codename - Bandit - and will apparently have a 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor and a 20MP camera on the back.

It's known that Microsoft is already testing the next major WP8 update - GDR3 - which will be able to support bigger devices. Nokia's current biggest WP8 Lumia is the 1020 at 4.5-inches.

Samsung is carving itself out a nice little niche with its Galaxy Note series of phablets, but none - yet - as big as six inches.

"I'm on the train" looms larger.
