Nokia to go head-to-head with Apple iPad: it's the 10.1" Sirius running Windows RT

A photo has already leaked but now we're getting more spec info on Nokia's upcoming tablet, which will be unveiled at a news event in New York on September 26.

It looks like it will be called Sirius. It will match the screen size of the iPad at 10.1 inches and will run Windows RT,  Microsoft's cutdown version of Windows 8.

The Sirius will be powered by a Qualcomm quad-core processor, meaning it can work on most 4G LTE mobile networks as well as WiFi.

The overall design will be thinner and lighter than the current iPad and the Sirius will look like an oversize Lumia smartphone, with Nokia's now-trademark colourful polycarbonate shells.

It seems Nokia isn't planning to significantly undercut Apple in pricing....the Sirius will be similarly priced to the iPad, but of course running Windows will make it compatible with the included Office suite of apps as well as easy USB connection to peripherals.
