UK network 3 abolishes roaming charges in seven countries to call home

At last, a UK mobile network is taking steps towards getting rid of ridiculous roaming charges when you use your phone abroad.

3 is abolishing roaming charges for calls home, texts and data...but initially only in seven countries.

They are: Austria, Australia, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland and Sweden.

If you're a 3 contract or pay-as-you-go customer, you can now use your minutes, texts and data allowance in those countries just as you would in Britain. And there are no fees attached at all.

OK...holiday destinations like France, Spain and Greece aren't there yet but 3 says it will be adding other countries.
