Storage space can be at a premium on some Windows Phone devices and Nokia has provided a way of saving some of those precious megabytes by storing maps on a removable storage card.
If you've updated your Lumia to the latest Amber firmware, you'll see Storage Check in Settings. It lets you delete temporary files but doesn't give the option to store maps on a microSD card.
The option was there while the app was being tested, but Nokia has removed it from the final version.
But you can still get the beta with the maps option from the Windows Phone Store and it will appear as Lumia Storage Check Beta in your app list.
