Nokia Software Updater now fixes Lumia "spinning cogs of death"

Some users have been reporting the permanent spinning cogwheels when they've updated or reset their Nokia Lumia WP8 devices.

Basically, the final reboot doesn't work and it's left owners having to exchange their phones for new ones.

Well, there's now a fix.

It's an update to the Windows PC software Nokia Software Updater for Retail that adds the option "My device doesn't boot up".

Nokia Software Updater is freely available - download it here - and will flash your phone with the latest OS software and firmware.

This additional option now gives owners a way of recovering from the "spinning cogs of death" without sending their phone for repair or exchange.
