John Lewis gets Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet launch exclusive in UK

Well, here's a turn up for the books. The launch of the highly-anticipated Nokia Lumia 2520 4G tablet will be a John Lewis store exclusive in the UK, with devices going on sale on December 4 for £399.

That looks like a good deal to us and less than we were expecting.

The 2520 has a 10.1" full-HD display and runs Microsoft Windows 8.1.

Colour options at John Lewis are a little limited....black or red and there's no word on planned pre-ordering. It will be available online and in-store, which means you can get it delivered to a Waitrose supermarket near you.

John Lewis also plans to sell the 2520 case, which includes a keyboard, booster battery and two full-size USB ports. It will cost £149.95 and will add five hours battery life to the claimed 11 hours of the 2520.

The Lumia goes up against the latest Apple iPad Air, also priced at £399, but with less storage and without 4G connectivity. The Lumia will also have Microsoft's Office Suite of productivity apps built-in.
