BT apologies for widespread internet outage

The biggest broadband provider in the UK - BT - has apologised to customers for a widespread outage of the network over the weekend. It started on Saturday when many websites, including ebay and Amazon were unavailable and the up error messages. BT says its now been fixed but hasn't said what caused it.
