Microsoft confirms 4G Nokia Lumia 635 will go on sale in UK on July 3 for £119.99

Microsoft has ramped up the battle of the budget smartphones by announcing the new 4G Nokia Lumia 635 will go on sale in the UK on July 3 for £119.99.

It's aimed at undercutting the highly-successful Motorola Moto G range of Android phones which will be releasing a 4G version for about £150.

The Lumia 635 has the same specs as the cheaper 630 but with added 4G connection.

It has a 4.5" screen, 5MP camera and microSD card slot for storage expansion. It also has changeable back covers in very bright orange, green and yellow as well as black and white and will be loaded with the new Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.

Microsoft says the device will be sold by most of the major mobile networks as well as Tesco, Amazon, Phones4u and Carphone Warehouse.
