Microsoft says official Windows Phone 8.1 update will roll out in India first two weeks in July

So, the official Microsoft Twitter account in India says the long-long-long-awaited WP8.1 release will be during the first two weeks of July.

Presumably, it will be released at slightly different times on different phone models and different carriers.

Let's hope it's true and let's hope this release schedule is worldwide.

Microsoft have left it just a little too long between the burst of publicity about the new features in 8.1 (think Notification Centre, Swype-style typing etc) and the actual release.

OK a developers preview was released but you have to be a bit of a nerd to get hold of it and takeup has been less than 10%.

Never lose the momentum, as they say. So release it quickly.
