Tubecast lets you beam YouTube to your TV using Google Chromecast

A couple of days ago this blog tried to explain why Windows Phones can't connect with Google's Chromecast TV dongle.  Basically, Google doesn't want it to happen.

But, praise be to the high temple of determined developers, there is now an app for Windows Phone that lets you throw YouTube at your TV using Chromecast. And it works pretty well.

It's called Tubecast:
1 Download Youtube videos (HD HQ SQ / Pause and Resume)
2 Background downloads
3 Play the sound of the video under lock
4 Login to your Youtube account and use all the features (subscribe, watch later, history, my videos, subscribers...)
5 Share videos to your social networks, e-mail, text messages and clipboard
6 Comment and rate while playing videos
7 View Google avatars in the comments
8 Open Youtube links inside Tubecast
9 Find videos with Youtube links (www.youtube.com/...)
10 Speech and suggestion search
11 Beautiful and handy user interface
12 Custom Tubecast as you feel with 11 colors
13 Live tile
14 Geek : show memory usage

Complete Cast features :

1 Cast video or audio on your TV
2 Cast online and downloaded Youtube videos (WP8 only)
3 Chromecast (total control Volume and seek)
4 UPNP/DLNA (total control Volume and seek)
5 Sync with music and video Hub
Tubecast is a free download and you get 20 goes. If you want to continue using it, you have to stump up £1.49 (or more if you want to add a donation to the developer). Money well spent.
