The rollout of Windows Phone voice assistant Cortana hasn't been smooth. Users were expecting it to arrive with Windows Phone 8.1 update. But it hasn't.
The company now says Cortana will come to the UK in the next two weeks but it will be in beta and you'll have to have Preview for Developers app installed to get it.
It seems it will be included in the beta preview of WP8.1 Update 1.
Cortana will stay femail in the UK and she will have a British accent. So it won't be actress Jen Taylor, who voiced the character in the Halo games and in the US version of Cortana.
Microsoft really must get its act together on releasing updates. Either give customers a hard and fast update timeframe and stick with it....or don't give one at all.
Promising stuff and then throwing out delays is called teasing. It's ok once or twice but gets annoying very quickly.
