Microsoft has released the long-awaited Live Lock Screen app for Windows Phone 8.1.
It's officially still in beta but seems to work well.
More customisation of the lock screen has been made possible by WP8.1, and the app isn't available for any other versions.
It's been a joint project by Microsoft and developer Rudy Huyn.
You now have a choice of designs and animations, although the basic information on the lock screen stays the same. That means still only one diary appointment visible, which we see as a big miss by Microsoft and will probably keep us using the excellent Awesome Lock app.
