Microsoft releases WindUp SnapChat clone for Windows Phone

Microsoft has released a competitor to the incredibly-popular instant messaging SnapChat.

It's called WindUp - which we presume is wind up as opposed to wind as in gales up oh forget it - which Redmond insists is NOT a SnapChat clone. Despite that, it IS a SnapChat clone and works in exactly the the same way on WP8/.1.

You sign up and you can then message anyone else on Windows Phone with the app and set an expiry time for the message, which can contain photos, videos and audio.
