The latest figures from analysts Kantar WorldPanel show Microsoft's Windows Phone now has a 9.9% share of the smartphone market in Great Britain.
That's up from 7.1% in the same period a year ago.
It's not a huge rise but it pushes WP well ahead of BlackBerry, which has dropped to just 1.3%.
Elsewhere it's a mixed bag of fortune for WP. In Italy, marketshare increased from 7.9% to 13%. But in Germany, it's down from 8.1% to 6.1% and share in France dropped from 11% to 8.7%.
Overall in the top five European markets, WP edged up from 7.6% to 8.5%.
But the operating system is still not impressing the US market. There was a small rise from 3.8% to 3.9%. And it's also failing in the important China market, down to 0.8% from an already-small 2.3%.
There is hope for the future though with several manufacturers planning to release new Windows phones, following HTC's decision to launch a WP version of its popular Android One M8 device.
