At last...Flipboard app released for Windows Phone 8.1

Update: The Flipboard release was a mistake and the app has been withdrawn. Details here.

It's been "coming soon" for a long time...but at last it's here. An official Flipboard app has been released for Windows Phone 8.1.

The magazine-style newsreader has been incredibly popular on iOS and Android for some time.

The Windows Phone version only works on WP8.1 and only on devices with 1GB of RAM or more. That means lower-end 512MB phones can't download it.

The Windows Phone versions isn't as slick as its counterparts on Apple and Android, and navigation is not intuitive.

You can sign in with existing Flipboard accounts or create a new one.

If you want a feed of IJSMblog posts just search for IJSMblog and follow us.

You can download the app in the Windows Phone Store here:

Update: Apparently, there were problems with downloading Flipboard from the Store...people were getting error messages...but it seems that has now been sorted out.

Update 2: Our initial impression is the app is slow and cumbersome to use. Adding a new feed takes patience. If you want to add IJSMblog, we suggest you search for "IJSMblog", then expand the search list and scroll down to select our RSS feed.
Flipboard was originally called Flipboard because you could flip the headlines to see the stories. That's gone with the WP version and you have to scroll down the list of stories or swipe to get to another page. It seems like a very poor copy of the existing Android and Apple apps.
