Microsoft has confirmed what we've known for some time. The name Nokia will be dropped from its Lumia range of smartphones.
They'll be branded Microsoft Lumia.
Redmond has already said it will be dropping Phone from Windows Phone as the name of the operating system. It'll happen with the Windows 10 update expected sometime next year, unifying it with Windows 10 on PCs and tablets.
So...it's Microsoft Lumia running Windows.
Today we are announcing on our global and local Facebook pages that the names of each page will be changed from Nokia to “Microsoft Lumia”…… Everybody involved in the pages will remain the same, it’s just the inevitable name change that we have all been working towards.
