OnePlus "in talks with Microsoft to produce Windows phone"

It's reported that new smartphone kid-on-the-block OnePlus could be planning to release a Windows-powered device.

The Chinese manufacturer has taken the mobile computing world by something of a storm selling its OnePlus One phone, running on Android.

OnePlus Global Director Carl Pei has given an interview to the Economic Times of India which quotes him saying the company is definitely planning a follow up to the One...and possibly a smartphone running Windows Phone OS:
During the interaction, Pei also revealed that the company is considering a Windows Phone smartphone. "We have had discussions with Microsoft over a Windows Phone smartphone. We are still looking into it," he said.
Earlier this year, Microsoft opened up WP and allowed more hardware manufacturers to load the OS on their devices.

And it's proved a pretty popular move with an estimated two dozen companies planning WP smartphones. Some are already on the market, including the WP version of the flagship HTC One (M8), which uses the same hardware as the Android version of the device.
