Microsoft has released a Windows Phone 8.1 update to activate the new Battery Saver app features. At the moment, the update is only for users who've signed up to Preview for Developer.
The Battery Saver app went live yesterday and now we have the operating system update needed to make it work properly.
You can now pin a live battery stats tile to your start page and there's also a Battery Saver option in the pull-down shortcuts menu.
