Workaround: how to set up Google calendar and contacts sync on Windows Phone

Google calendar and contacts sync set up has stopped working for many Windows Phone users.

You're ok if you've got it already set up, but new connections are failing to work.

Here's how to get round it:

Go to Settings > Email+Accounts > Add An Account > Advanced Set-Up and enter your Google email address and password. Then choose Exchange ActiveSync.

We're not sure why this is happening. Google has delayed withdrawing ActiveSync support to give Microsoft time to come up with Google's newer syncing method. It looks like Microsoft may have started making changes.
