Amazon has announced that its Kindle app for iPad and iPhone has been upgraded to run embedded audio and video.These are functions that are not available on Amazon's own Kindle hardware.
The move could be seen as another admission by Amazon that it will have to rely on the Apple products to distribute its library of titles.
Last week, Amazon announced a big price-cut for the Kindle in the face of fierce competition from Apple's own iBooks app and store.
