Flipboard App Gets Stung By Its Own Success

Update 1: Flipboard developers now say they've added more servers for the app and things should be getting better. But they're still pretty overwhelmed by response.  It means they're still accepting people in waves to add their Facebook and Twitter feeds to the app.
The potential for this app is huge and it's worth hanging in til they get it right.

Flipboard was heralded as a groundbreaking free app for the iPad.

A stunningly designed newsreader that would also keep you in touch with your friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter.

It had a fantastic review in the Wall Street Journal predicting it would change the face of iPad apps.

And on launch it was downloaded in its thousands.

But that's the problem. The developers servers couldn't cope and it's been dogged by error messages.

The developers say the problem should be sorted out soon:

Now adding new users in waves. We’ll update you when we’re ready for the next wave, after we deploy new servers tonight :) ”

So, now you know.  Hang on in there and try again later.
