Virgin US "Set To Announce Unlimited Mobile Data Plan"

It seems the mobile network Virgin in the United States is about to launch a truly unlimited data plan.

Leaked memos received by IntoMobile say the launch is planned for August 24.  There would be two offerings: a ten-day $10 one giving 100 MB....and a $40 30-day one giving unlimited data with no cap, not even a fair usage limit.

The plans are intended for mobile surfing dongles and MiFi routers and could be snapped up by iPad users.

The Virgin move goes against the tide of networks imposing strict limits on data usage and charging a premium if it's busted.

Here's hoping Virgin has similar plans for the UK.
