Another White iPhone 4 Spotted In The Wild

A white iPhone 4 has been spotted...this time in New York...and - as you can see above- it was papped.

Earlier this week, a very smug Stephen (with a ph and not a v) Fry held the snowy beast aloft during an award ceremony in London.

Now, another has been spotted at a press event in New York.

You'll remember, Apple has been delaying the release of the white model saying wooly things like "it's proving harder o manufacture than we thought". The latest Apple pronouncement on the matter is it could be out "by the end of the year".

The New York sighting was made by colleagues of Pocket Lint whose eyes nearly popped out when a man in a lift got one out of his pocket.

Photos were taken and the man offered a little more information on the understanding he would remain anonymous.

He says Apple headquarters is "awash" with the white iPhone 4, but there are still manufacturing problems. It appears getting all the hardware white enough is the stumbling block. The home button doesn't match the white of the case.

Now we know Apple is a stickler for detail...like releasing the iPhone 4 with an antenna that can be shorted when you hold the device (!). Anyway, it seems when it comes to white...well, white must be white.
