The growth in smartphone sales worldwide is phenomenal. In some countries, it's rising 67% annually.
Manufacturers are desperate to get you as a customer and, probably more importantly, keep you.
It seems Apple is succeeding in at least the latter.
A survey from German market research company, GfK, shows iPhone owners are the most loyal smartphone users.
Of iPhone owners questioned, 59% said they would be sticking with Apple. Second came Blackberry (35%), third Android (28%) and fourth Nokia's Symbian phones at 24%. Lowest was owners with smartphones running Microsoft's offering at 21%, but the company has only just released the Windows Phone 7 operating system which it hopes will bring it back into the running.
