It was back in March that HP announced the Pre 3 smartphone and by now we've all forgotten about it. But it seems it could actually go on sale in the UK soon.
Play.com has it for pre-order at £349.99 with a release date of July 8.
HP bought Palm a year ago, and this device has evolved from the Palm Pre and the Palm Pre 2, which first showed the world Palm's webOS operating system. The world was very impressed, but most carriers refused to stock the devices on contract so sales were limited.
webOS will reach version 2.2 in the Pre 3, which is larger than its predecessors with a bigger screen. If any OS is going to really rival Apple's iOS for functionality and ease-of-use, it's webOS. But it remains a minority sport among smartphone fans.
With the right exposure and marketing, it could become big.
