Best Buy "Tells HP To Take Back Unsold TouchPads"

Here's more evidence that tablets rushed out onto the market to rival the iPad are bombing.

AllThingsD is quoting sources saying the Best Buy chain of stores in the US has taken delivery of 270,000 TouchPads and has sold just 25,000. It's apparently now telling HP to take back unsold units to free up storage space.

It's not surprising. The TouchPad was launched at the same prices as iPads. HP has now discounted it by $100, in effect admitting it can't sell the device, which received reviews that were lukewarm at best.

Bye bye TouchPad.
