Woz Says He's Happy For Steve

Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs in 1975, says he's happy for Jobs now he's decided to retire as the company's CEO.

Jobs will stay at the helm as Chairman of the Apple Board and COO, Tim Cook, will take over as CEO.

Woz says Jobs needs more time to himself to cope with his illness, believed to be a recurrence of cancer of the pancreas.
"He really has had to sacrifice a lot to run Apple," Wozniak told me a few minutes after Jobs announced his departure today. " I mean, just your time, everybody wants you day and night, that's what I mean by sacrifices. It takes so much out of anyone to be under just contant pressure and demands like that.
"Steve needs now to just have some 'Steve time,' Wozniak added. "He deserves it."
