Virgin Media cable TV company has released more details of its planned iPad TiVo app.
It seems the free app will act as a giant remote control for your TiVo box, letting your view the programme guide, set a recording and change channel.
But it will not let you view programmes on your iPad, unlike Sky's app which gives customers access to most of the major channels carried by the satellite broadcaster.
If you're chomping at the bit for the Virgin app, I'm afraid you'll have to wait. It needs a firmware update for the TiVo box to work and that will happen "later this year".
It's also been announced that Samsung will make the next-generation Virgin TiVo boxes. The current, rather utilitarian, boxes are made by Cisco.
